My community partnership, Immigrant Legal Resource Center(ILCR) does once in a while get caught up in conflicts relating to its various local and state relationship. The police department and even driver license fall into some of the things of state and local government, with that being said because my community partnership deals primarily with immigration, these are some of the things that are dealt with state and local. Immigration is a big deal, especially in California so it would not be rare that ILRC would not deal with local and state relationship.

The activity that I participated this week, which was Founders' Week was the event on Catholicism with Father Eddie Fernandez. This event was basically a conversation with Latino students on the Catholic religion, faith, beliefs, and values. I really enjoyed this event because being a Latina and Catholic I felt like I could relate, and also got to learn a little a bit more of my faith in my culture. During Founders' Week, I learned that this week is to influence the mission and values of NDNU. Also how our community continues to thrive in the mission passed on from the sisters of NDNU.

As of now with the research I have done I can not find if they have actually made any legislative changes, but it can defenitely be stated that they encouraged legislative changes. For example, you have the Dream Act which is a big issue and most importantly seeks change.

My community partnership, Immigration Legal Resource Center does seem to participate in taking public stands and on political campaign. The major ones I found was the CIS Liaison Meetings, Anti Fraud Campaign, and the Dream Act which is a major one. The CIS Liaison meetings are formed by working with the Bay Area to advocate with CIS officials that are local through the Liaison meetings. There is also the Anti- Fraud Campaign, the campaign helps to announce any major immigration fraud , and it also a leader in the educational campaign to warm immigrants about fraud. The major one that the Immigration Legal Resource seems to be involved is the Dream Act. They mentioned that to them it is inspiring to work with many students, for the enactment go this legislation in the United States Congress.
